Bring your family and come race with us! Our 3rd Annual event features a professionally timed 5K* cross-country race and a 100 yard Kids Dash! The 5K race will take place on the Elkhorn High School campus, beginning and ending in the football stadium. The 100 yard Kids Dash will be held on the football field prior to 5K race start for kids 12 and under with awards in 2 age divisions. Awards given for 5K by 6 age categories. *All minors (12 and under) participating in the 5K must register for the 5K and also be accompanied by an adult registered for the event.
More than just a morning of fun activity, it will be an important event to benefit special education programs for Elkhorn youth. The proceeds will aid both the Elkhorn Soccer Club’s High 5 Program and the Foundation’s Special Education Grant Program for Elkhorn Public Schools. The Soccer Club’s High 5 Program was created through funds raised from the previous 5K runs. It delivers innovative curriculum designed for players who, for physical, mental or emotional reasons, cannot commit to a conventionally structured soccer competition. The program addresses 5 key components/skills: motor, social, sensory, emotional & soccer. Through the Foundation’s Special Education Grant Program, we are able to fund requests from Elkhorn Special Education teachers in the district for items such as thematic language and cross-curricular activities, equipment for sensory processing needs, special education iPads, toys for play skills therapy and much more!
