We are so grateful for your support. Every 90 minutes, someone gets diagnosed with ALS and in that same timeframe, someone else loses their battle to the disease. ALS is a progressive and terrifying neurodegenerative disease that strikes anyone at any time. The lifespan after diagnosis is roughly 2-5 years and there is currently no cure. Your support will have a tremendous impact and help to advance hopeful ALS research that is now currently underway while also providing essential equipment to individuals who are living so courageously with the disease now.

Fine Print: Important Details

ALS ONE 2023 Boston Marathon - Fine Print and Details:

We are so grateful for your interest in joining our 2023 Boston Marathon Team! Your support means the world to us and to all impacted by ALS. We are so honored and grateful to have been selected as an Official John Hancock Charity Partner in the marathon once again and our team, which accounts for an enormous part of our annual fundraising every year, means the world to us. Taking on a both a physically and fundraisingly-challenging event for us to advance our ALS research and care speaks to the incredible person you must be! Please read the following carefully and sign below with your acknowledgement.

If my application is approved:

1) I understand that I am required to raise at least $12,500 for ALS ONE to help advance critical ALS research and care.
2) I understand that I will be responsible for paying the Boston Marathon entry fee ($375.00), which will then be added to my fundraising page but not included in my minimum raised.
3) I understand that 100% of my fundraising minimum ($12,500) will be due by the day of the marathon (April 17, 2023), but that I can still fundraise after that if I’d like.
4) I understand that I will provide my credit card information to keep on file with GivenGain (the BAA’s mandated fundraising platform) and will be charged on April 30, 2023 if I have not raised the minimum amount at that time.
5) I understand that charity entrants, once accepted, may not cancel their official application once it is submitted and paid.
6) I understand that in case of injury or need to drop-out after my application is submitted and paid, I will still be responsible for meeting the fundraising minimum as ALS ONE will not get an additional bib because of my inability and transfers are not allowed.
7) I understand that I am required to attend the race expo to pick up my own running bib.
8) I will adhere to all guidelines set forth by Boston Marathon officials.
9) I will proudly wear my official ALS ONE 2023 Boston Marathon singlet on race day.
10) I will be a great champion of the ALS ONE organization to the fullest extent that I am able – doing all I can to surpass the required minimum and fundraising actively and consistently.
11) I will be doing an amazing thing by helping to END ALS while also providing essential care resources and equipment to individuals who are living with the disease now.
12) I know that ALS can become curable - and if selected, I’m all-in to help!
