Thespina (Tina) Ramona (Tsepas) Glidden. Tina Glidden died on March 4, 2020, from complications of ALS at the age of 66.
Tina was raised in Andover, MA, and resided in Brockton. She fought a long, hard battle with a ruthless and unforgiving disease that robbed her of her mobility, her voice and at the end, her ability to communicate. In her words written as the disease progressed, she expressed the frustration of all she was going through, stating that although she lost her modesty early on, she fought to maintain her dignity. “Being totally dependent on others for your existence is both a humbling and frightening experience. It’s a vulnerability that few will probably ever know.”
Tina’s difficult ALS journey was made so much better by the loving professional caregivers at Holden Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Holden, MA, the ALS Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital, and by Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care in Auburn, MA.
Throughout this long journey, Tina was supported by her family, her friends, and her church community. Everything that happened in support of Tina was the result of the medical professionals and the actions of her sister Willa, who was also her fiercest advocate. Without Willa’s support, Tina would never have received the amazing care she was afforded.
We are so grateful for your support of ALS ONE in memory of such a beautiful and amazing woman.
