The main goal of the BCWQMP in 2023 is for students to explore and answer the question “How do we know if fish are safe to eat?” In doing so, the local high school students participating in the program will learn about several topics, including the history of a landscape, contaminants, food webs, water quality, diseases, and invasive species. At the end of the program, they will share their findings with the community and, perhaps most significantly, become advocates for water quality.

If water quality, especially the water quality of the lakes in Barry County, is important to you, please make a donation to the BCWQMP today. Your donation, no matter the size, will bring us all one step closer to making water quality a priority throughout Barry County.

The Willard G. Pierce and Jessie M. Pierce Foundation, which operates Pierce Cedar Creek Institute, is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit, private operating foundation. Your donation is a tax-deductible contribution to the fullest extent provided by law.
