In May 2017, our Lord was seeking a special angel, and he chose a unique one...my wife and best friend Dorothy.
Dorothy, or "Dot", as many called her, was known for the pure joy in her heart and her smile that brightened every room. She loved life and saw the best in everyone and everything.
A graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Dorothy went to become an award-winning sales executive in the telecommunications industry. As her career grew, so did Dorothy's passion for giving back as a mentor, career and life coach to many so that they could achieve their best potential. In fact, she even did so during her last days with the nurses that were caring for her in a way that only Dorothy could do.
In honor of her memory, I have established the Dorothy Nieto Memorial Endowed Scholarship at Seminole State College, which provides a lasting opportunity that will keep Dorothy's legacy and spirit alive while helping others in our community.
In recognition of Dorothy's life accomplishments, her scholarship will provide financial assistance to full-time female students seeking four-year bachelor degrees in either business and information management or nursing. Preference will be provided to first-generation students with financial need.
