Roles – Overview (detailed instructions for each role will be given onsite )Registration:All pre-registered athletes get a number (bib), safety pins, hat and goody bag. This is pretty fast paced, so best to have friendly, morning people.Onsite registration staff need to collect money and distribute race numbers.
Parking: We need assertive people to greet and direct cars to park in an orderlyfashion. Must wear safety vests to stand out. Must be able to slow/stoptraffic.
Water Stop: People on the course fill up cups half way and hand out toathletes running/walking by, “yelling water”. Please wear gloves and keepfingers out of cups ?Athletes will throw down the cups, so all the trash has to be collected andbagged up.
Course Monitors/Directional PeopleAthletes will be looking for people, signs to tell them where to run.Not difficult but CRITICAL job – pointing the way.Course monitors are critical to watch for any rogue traffic, cheer on therunners, but also watch for people that appear fuzzy or in trouble. Shouldcarry charged cell phone. Costumes encouraged.A course with engaged course monitors enhance the race experience for allparticipants. Runners feel like the race is well organized if there are lots ofpeople visible, cheering and on the course.
