Harriet Hammond Memorial Scholarship

Harriet Hammond, a teacher for 40 years in PUSD, was an inspiration, a motivational force, and an all-around positive influence on the lives of countless students. She was one of the most iconic teachers in Pasadena High School history. By constantly reinventing herself and demanding excellence, Mrs. Hammond brought out the best in her students and colleagues. Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Hammond supported her students by attending PHS sporting events, ballet recitals, and other extracurricular activities. She believed in teaching with a holistic approach that did not stop once the school day ended or the work week was done.

The Harriet Hammond Commitment to Excellence scholarship has been established in her memory. Donations made through PEF will fund a scholarship to a graduating PHS senior each spring.
