Hey Friends – It's my birthday and this is a great time to ask y'all to help me celebrate by supporting my favorite organization Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. Clearwater and its founder Pete Seeger have been so influential in my life.
My wayback story, at 9 years old my camp counselor and her banjo had us singing Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie songs around the campfire. Years later I got involved with the sloop club NYC Friends of Clearwater, to help event plan their first annual Water Festival and I never left.
Even as President of NYCFC Pete most noticed me when I joined his passion for the Native American cause and paddled the Two Row Wampum Revival down the Hudson River. That event including a hug from Pete at a Two Row ceremony in Beacon Park, (later named for Pete and Toshi), stands out as one of the best times of my life.
I believe strongly in honoring Pete & Toshi Seeger’s vision.
As a current Board member of Clearwater I do my best to think of what Pete would want. That's tricky for people to think they know. ;) One thing I’m sure of is that he wanted this organization to go on for another 50 years and more. We are not perfect and have to adjust with the times but always with integrity and as Aurora Barnes song goes “What Would Pete Do?”
Clearwater needs you and appreciates all your support! Hope to see you at the upcoming Gala March 4th

Thanks for helping me celebrate my birthday with meaning!

Hard to state a financial goal as I would like to raise many times 1000 but any amount you can give helps greatly.
