Harry Chapin, the late singer/songwriter and activist, founded Long Island Cares in 1980. He was working with World Hunger at the time and then recognized that hunger was an issue in his own backyard...Long Island. Today, Long Island Cares continues his mission for food insecure Long Islanders. Your gift will make a difference in the lives of over 220,000 food insecure Long Islanders, over 66,000 of whom are children.
