Again this year, individual taxpayers can take a deduction of up to $300 (doubles to $600 for joint filers) for charitable donations made in 2021 when they file their tax return, even if they also take the standard deduction and do not itemize.
Itemizers may continue to deduct 100% of their adjusted gross income for gifts to charity through December 31, 2021.
