Thank you for signing up to volunteer with fellow open hearted volunteers of all ages to help underserved children in the South Bay areas of Los Angeles! We are partnering with our charity partner, the Volunteer Center South Bay Harbor Long Beach. They need our help assembling back packs for their Operation Teddy Bear!

Volunteer activities will include:

TWO SHIFTS: You can volunteer with us from 9am to 11am or/and from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, January 20th at the Volunteer Center's headquarters in Torrance, CA!

Please wear comfortable clothing. Volunteering with our group of 15 volunteers will take place indoors. Age restriction is 13 and up. Volunteer hours for high school or college age students will be honored.  Additional information and details will be sent a few days before January 20th.

The Volunteer Center has served South Bay and surrounding communities for over 60 years.  Founded in 1994, Operation Teddy Bear helps address community needs by providing over 4000 school bags annually to first graders in under-resourced schools in Los Angeles and Long Beach Unified School districts.  Each child will be provided with a  brightly colored school bag that includes reading books, S.T.E.A.M. kits, coloring books, learning clocks, paint sets, pencils, math flashcards, a toothbrush, and, of course, a Teddy Bear.

We are so excited that you will be joining us in the Open Hearts Movement. With the help of people like you, we will help these children understand that there are people in their community who care.
