Intro to Crop Diseases

There are a multitude of diseases that can plague our crops or gardens. As growers, it is important to understand their biology and how they work so that we can better prevent and control them. This talk is geared towards farmers or avid home gardeners who want to understand the complicated world of crop diseases. We will discuss topics such as basic biology of bacterial, viral, fungal, and oomycete diseases. It can be very difficult to tell some of these diseases apart, and we will go over some tips and tricks on how to understand what you are looking at in your garden. We will also go over disease prevention practices and some organic spray controls to fend off diseases on our plants.
