Learn how to create a naturally dyed organic bandana and silk scarf using seasonal organic plant material. In this immersive journey into the artistry of eco-friendly textile design, you'll learn about the dye properties of select plants and trees and the impacts of the seasons and environment on plant color and chemical composition. Amy will demonstrate how to use flowers and leaves to transfer dyes and prints, as well as various bundle-dyeing techniques. For easy understanding, she'll show examples of the finished effects. At the end of the class, you'll have two beautiful creations to take home!

Amy Tucker is an artist working in textiles, mixed media, and jewelry. She is a creative innovator, global traveler, environmentally and socially conscious artist/designer. Amy has a BS in Fine Arts + Textile Design from Skidmore College and is a recipient of the Marguerita Mergentime Textile Design award. She has pursued specialized education in the arts at FIT, Parsons and NYU.  Founder at ART RANCH in Fredericksburg, focused on artist residencies and workshops connecting Arts + Environment.
