Fielding faculty member, Debra Bendell Estroff, PhD, and her spouse, Ron Estroff, PhD, established this scholarship in memory of their dear colleague and friend, Stephen Ruffins, PhD. Dr. Ruffins had an esteemed career and many positions, including that he was a board member of the Alonso Center for Psychodynamic Studies, and one of the mentors for the African American Student Association at Fielding.
The purpose of the scholarship is to help students in the Clinical Psychology Program defray the costs of travel and accommodations at National Sessions. The scholarship is designed to support students-parents of young children and/or children with disabilities, and/or students-primary caregivers of close family members (e.g. elderly parents).
