The Richard E. Winter Cancer Center Warrior Fund was established to give those fighting the battle support for travel, hotels, supplements, and other necessities that come with seeking treatment.

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s REW Cancer Treatment Center was established in 1994 to bring comprehensive cancer care to the residents of St. Lawrence County. The creation of a program offering exceptional, collaborative cancer care in Ogdensburg, NY has allowed area residents to receive state-of-the-art cancer treatment closer to home.

The need for the caliber of care provided at the Winter Cancer Center can be seen in their utilization numbers, which have been increasing. In 2016, the Winter Cancer Center had 8,890 visits in medical oncology; in 2017, they had 10,001, and almost 11,000 visits in 2018. On a yearly basis, the Winter Cancer Center sees on average 260 new cancer patients.
